Project:
WEAVING VOICES

Bo Yeung is an emerging multidisciplinary artist residing on the traditional territory of Tr’ondëk Hwëchin in Dawson City, Yukon.

Yeung immigrated to Canada in 1995 from the ShaTang rural village in Kaiping, China. She has been questioning her role as an immigrant through the colonial narrative by using creative practices to reveal the adopted burden of the settler within, and to create more spaces for Indigenous voices to be heard. Her work explores the web of cultural identity, the diaspora, memory and colonization by gently threading them into intimate poetic experiences. Yeung was a contributor to the West Coast Line’s “Reconcile This!” and is founder of the annual, northernmost Chinese Dragon Dance and Performance, as well as a member of Dawson City’s League of Lady Wrestlers.
