Reconciliation always involves understanding where each one of us comes from, and how we’ve made our place on this land. My Mennonite-Brethren identity treats words with authority and texts as sacred. We pride ourselves on our pacifism, following the rules, and our agriculture and industry. As I inspect, research and define my own heritage, I am conflicted by the many histories with which it intersects. Have I placed myself at the expense of others?
