Two-channel audio installation in the dome at Union Station
The Forks is defined as the meeting of the Assiniboine and Red Rivers. Its geographical location is historically one of the original meeting places for First Nations, settlers and fur traders in Manitoba. Two Channels is comprised of recordings of the sound of the Red River and the Assiniboine River. Field recordings were taken above the water at various locations along the two rivers. The individual recordings are played separately on different sides of the Union Station Rotunda on speakers, to create a merging of sound in the centre of the dome, which is emblematic of the Red and Assiniboine rivers meeting.
