Plexi, wood, paint, clear film image
During our class field trip to Churchill, we visited Cape Merry. Part of the Cape Merry rock formation is being destructed, to allow for the construction of a centre researching, in part, solutions for oil spills in oceans. I am increasingly interested in how we can cause more destruction to our natural environment in an effort to correct the destruction we have already caused.
I have used images taken en route to Cape Merry, in combination with the silhouette of the rock formation itself, and the environment as we left. The water behind the work is meant to give a sense of motion to the work.
